Just saw this brand and wondering wether somebody knows it.
It's the first time I see it.
Who manufactured that lens ?
Click here to see on Ebay
Thanks.

It looks a bit like the old preset Tokina.
Colors and the knurling on the focus grip could vary as the vendor desired.
I think Dollonds was a camera store brand.
A very similar lens branded by Sears that seems to be in the old Tokina preset series -

There is an opticians in the UK called "Dollond and Aitchison". A quick search reveal its origin as an optical and instrument company founded in 1750. Camerapedia reports it as selling film cameras in the early 20th century. So maybe there is some connection, at least in the name if not in the manufacture of the lens. _________________ John |

Luis, you're right. It seems to be a Tokina preset like your Sears sample.
Those brand lenses are to look at, as they coul be Tokinas. _________________ Olivier - Moderator

Congrats Mal !
Waiting for your samples.
135mm seem worth it and quite always good. We'll see. _________________ Olivier - Moderator

It arrived today so I took it into the back yard to give it some fresh air.
It's got a 15 blade diaphragm, and is quite small physically compared to some of the other 135s, but already I think I like it

Nice samples, Mal.
If it's small, light, with 15 blades and giving such pictures, I understand you already like it.

I have this same lens named "Prinz Galaxy". It does look like a Tokina of the time, but nobody so far has been able to prove it for sure. Wide open, it's full of CA, and provides a very vintage rendering. _________________ List of lenses |

My pleasure!
Oh, it's small alright, but from its first test-shots, capable of playing with the exalted company surrounding it here
Though, to be fair to the 'baby', those others are all 2.8/135s, so here it is beside my smallest 3.5/135, the Takumar...
