Hello,

As promised to Rolf and Madamasu, here are samples of this lens I received. I didn't post sooner because I was waiting for a P6 to Eos adapter, which I got today.

As it is sunny weather, here are some sample shots. Nothing artistic.
There's a dog in here. Don't be afraid... I asked him his agreement before posting his pic here. Laughing

All shots were taken handheld but it's far better to have a tripod or monopod. This is a huge lens, but seems as huge as the MC Sonnar 2.8/180mm.
Here it is with hood, compared to Helios 44M/2 on the left, Angenieux 35-70mm f2.5-3.5 on the right.

Now some samples :
1- wide open at f4

2- Stopped down to f8

3- about 20 meters away

4-

5- The dog with its warfff, sorry, warm agreement

6- Chimney wide open at f4

7- Chimney at f11

So, good lens but heavy.
No CA in comparison with Tair-3A.

Hi Olivier,

looks very sharp and clear too. The dog image is wonderful as well as the pic with the trash can Wink
Congrats for your new heavy lens.

Looks like a great quality lens. I have the Pentacon 300/4, which is apparently a copy of this (I think?). I wonder how they would compare head to head...

No it isn't ... Pentacon / Meyer Görlitz 4/300 is using a 5/4 design whereas the Sonnar is using a 5/3 design (and is obviously made by CZJ).
Other differences: diaphrag blades (far more with the Meyer) and I think smallest opening being 45 with the Sonnar and "less" with the Meyer.
Also the weight tells the story, Sonnar ca. 1600 incl sun-shade, Meyer 2150g

Yes, it closes up to f45 !!!
It is huge and not too heavy considering its size and construction.
It's quite easy to operate and I like the rendering.

... just wondering where to use it... Laughing
But autumn comes with a lot of little birds and animals going around in the country. Maybe I could use it in these cases.

Nice samples. I've been looking at these for a while, but always too expensive.

They are normally $250 - to $300 aren't they?
