Hi can you provide photos? What mount is it in?
Sounds like one of those Carl Zeiss Jena branded lenses which was actually made by some third party manufacturer in Japan / Korea. _________________ Graham - Moderator

A pro seller of lenses, great collector and great photographer, told me it was a very good lens ;
As I was a little skeptic, he took a picture of me with it and wanted to show me the result on the rear screen...
All these japanese lenses made under license form VEB CARL ZEISS JENA are good, he said with a great conviction.
Well, as I have a great respect for his opinion, I kept that in mind, but these are words, and you have to produce your own tests.
I'm pretty sure the results won't be bad, but how good in comparison of the Tamy SP 3.-5.4 60-300mm is the point.
