All images made handheld in boring winter light on rainy days , no sun.
Click on pic to view in larger size 2500px wide!

500mm f4 not a game not easy to handle it and lens is huge.

Did you have to step back all the way to Germany before you could take these portraits ? The focal distance and the quality is just amazing Smile !

The quality of the lens is amazing and I am even more amazed by your hand-holding skill. How could you handhold a mirror lens with weight over 7kg?! You must be very strong and well trained. Wink

There is also a very narrow DOF for this combination 500mm f4. Really need more skill and strength.
Very good images.

Seriously, was this a Stasi surveillance lens? It is certainly a bit specialised, and probably the only mirror lens you can use in less than ideal lighting conditions.

I had the 1000mm and indeed it was made for STASI then, but not only used by them.

Not much easier with sturdiest tripod what I have, portraits made with tripod. 500mm f4 on APS-C allow to make little mistake only.
