Being a user of a Canon 7D I've never been able to find a way to see my shutter count, unless I sent the camera off for service.
Today I found a utility that does the job, for a small fee.

I found it on the Canon Rumours forum and for £0.98/$1.49 you can see how many shots you've taken. I've had my 7D for two and a half years and I thought I was around the 60,000 mark. Nope, in fact my count is 78,944
The life expectancy of a 7D shutter is 150,000 so I'm over half way there but I'm happy with that. Last week I met another 7D owner and his camera looks like he had dropped it from a moving vehicle, several times! It was still working as it should. I've treated mine with the utmost care and I hope I'll get several more years work out of it yet. _________________ Gary
