Why not just pick up a Mamiya-Sekor C 55/2.8 Probably as sharp and as big not counting adapter, but F2.8 and cheaper and better built. _________________ pentaxian |

Yes, a comparison of those two would be interesting.
A 55mm 5.6 could be very nice for macro, landscape, and other sorts of things where wide aperture is not a priority. It needs to be small and light (which it seems to be), sharp, and have low distortion.
It will have to compete with older adapted medium format lenses though.
Am I interested? Yes, I suppose so. It's a lens I would consider, at least. |

For such slow lens, it is not very difficult to make it sharp from edge to edge from wide open. The 5 blades aperture similar to the laowa which gives 10-pointed sun-stars. I am interested in comparing to the old medium format lens too. _________________ https://lensfever.com/

Medium format 55mm lenses for 645 are the 35mm lenses for that format. They need a retrofocal design. Flange focal distance is 63.3mm for Mamiya 645.
Can't find a diagram for the Astrhori but it is 5 elements _________________ pentaxian |

A GFX sensor is smaller than 4,5x6 . A 55mm on a GFX is the equivalent of a 44 mm on a FF.
The crop factor ( GFX/FF) is 1.26.
Their standard lens, 63mm f2.8, is the equivalent of a 50mmf2.2.
Regarding the « challenge » for lenses , 100 Mpx GFX has the pixel pitch of 61 Mpx FF and 50 Mpx GFX…. |
