Build your own lens spanner wrench

Hi!

I'm waiting for the spanner wrenches to fix the Retinette, but it's taking too long. So I thought in doing one by myself.

Since I don't want to damage any screw ring, I decided to build it from strong plastic. I found a piece of plastic that could be used:

So I cut it and made two jaws:

The thickness fits exactly inside the notch at the lens ring, so I had to put a handle. I made it with a bamboo strip and a metal cover from the cover slots of my PC, doubling in half and pressing around the bamboo.

Finally, just some epoxy cement (350 Kg/sq cm resistance) to fix the ensemble:

And the final finished tool:

And now the final conclusion: Reality sucks!...
The jaws got too close by 1mm when drying and the tool cannot loose the screw at the Retinette IA...

But I know how to build the next...
