...to the park of course. All shot wide open, last hour of sun...

It is hardly ever that a lens leaves me nearly speechless, this 60s lens however does...

A very good wide lens and a very short MFD make for a nice walk !

An MFD of 16 cm, if my memory serves me right...

Thanks guys, indeed a great lense and short MFD for my kind of work!

Great samples, especially #5 and #8 for me!

very nice again Klaus, funny enough I put my silver version on the NEX hoping to get out today with it but the atrocious weather at the moment put paid to that, will try again tomorrow, was really looking forward to getting out after again being housebound for a while, fingers crossed the weather is better Smile

Yep John, raining cats and dogs here and cold it is. Better after Tuesday forecast tells, up to 30C again. Let's see if that proves true. Wink

Lovely series. I do not (yet) have the 25mm but I really like my Topcor lenses. The 35mm and 100 are both quite impressive and the 58 1.4 is of course, a legend. Recently been some talk of these lenses being "overrated", I disagree.

Given their current prices they seem to be overrated. My mint 58/1.8 has weak corners on a crop even on f/5.6 - center is very good. Recent tests performed by :kuuan: 35/2.8 revealed its age - no MC and weak corners.

Despite that, the 58/1.4 experience is really awesome.

I remember I stopped buying lenses as I was beginning to collect Topcors...I'd wanted to pursue them for a long time but had been working on a complete M42 S-M-C set. Smile LBA made no more sense given my minimalist leanings. So many possessions clutter the mind keeping track, protecting...

Great examples showing off impressive lens!

On crop, mine is insanely sharp.

Ok. Mine RE 58/1.8 can be a minty lemon.

Anyway, a few quick handheld non-scientific pics - aperture f/5.6, ISO100 on a cropped Canon. Pay attention to both left and right corners.

I can't speak to the 58 1.8 as my copy has a multitude (like hundreds) of fine pits in the front lens element. I have not even tried it. I was hoping to find a cheap example with good front element and broken aperture or some such flaw, to swap it out.
