I bought this lens to member rawhead today in local shop, before I send it to Japan. I made some test shoots to check everything is okay.

Straight convert from RAW to JPEG, no processing, shoots are handheld wide open, temple was dark inside.
Canera is SONY NEX-3 ISO1600.

Click on each images to get higher resolution 1600px wide images!

You can see processed images here, I think difference is not much.

Pictures from lens itself.

Very nice Attila! Wide open is great!
If I may ask, how expensive is it?

If any lens fully deserves it's reputation, it's the Biotar 75. Cool

It was 325 GBP + paypal fee + shipping cost to rawhead. Less than half current Ebay "try" prices.

The closest approximation to this lens would be 85mm F 1.5 Summarex, or 85mm F 1.5 Helios?

I never try Summarex , definetly not for Helios, this is lot sharper wide open and bokeh also different I have/ had Helios in multiply copies in all variants.

I read on net Summarex a bit soft wide open and poor in contrast too, this is sharp and not poor in contrast wide open.

IIRC, Dr. Rawhead also just scored a 85mm F 1.5 Helios.
Happy New Year indeedy!
