They look really good. I have this lens as well mines in pentacon 6 mount and is in near mint condition. It was amongst the best bargains I ever got. sixty USD including shipping. I put a minimum bid on an e-bay listing and no one else bid. Really a great lens. Though for 35mm equivalent use it is really large and heavy but for a portrait lens bang for buck its really hard to beat. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |

Has anyone compared the 80/2.8 Biometar with the 80/2.8 Tessar?
I have the Tessar, but the Biometar seems to sell for more $. _________________ A Manual Focus Junky...

I happen to have both and seems tessar have more pleasant bokeh but biometar is a bit sharper WO. both produce lovely colors. |

An interesting effect with the Chain-link fence in #13. I forgot to say: Nice series of shots.
Thanks for the reply, nice to know....
My Tessar 80 seems sharp enough to me.

Thank you for the comments, everybody. I'm glad you like the photos.
I have been running around and could not reply till now.
My lens is in Pentacon 6 mount. Attila traded it to me for an Exakta version that I could not use on my Canon camera
because of the arm on it. Mine is a zebra version.
I have not been using this lens too long, but I like it very much.
I have not seen too many of the Tessar lenses at this length, but I see from your sample Lightshow that it is good and sharp
which is not surprising. |
