This lens comes from a Beauty Super L rangefinder camera from the late 50's. I got it for $25 and couldn't resist. The lens is an interesting double gauss 6/4 design using at least one lanthanum element. Very different, indeed, from the Highkor, with much smoother bokeh, but very sharp even wide open, even to the edges. It does suffer from quite a bit of light falloff, but that is correctable. I'm not usually a big fan of smooth bokeh, but this one has interesting rendering, smooth but not too smooth, with a bit of swirl. Again, a few first attempts.
