(sorry not my picture)
I saw this lens once before on ebay. It went for well over $100. It is not the very common 1.7/55. Granted I don't actively seek out Chinon lenses, but I'm a pretty devoted m42 follower, so I notice things like this.
I've had a few lenses that have had this particular body design: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3232/3031065582_8bdbcd6de4_m.jpg (example of the 28mm of the line). These are some of the best constructed lenses I've ever held. Only bested by Takumars IMH(and comparatively limited)O. Most of the line was relabeled as "auto-alpas." Optically I favored others, so I sold them all eventually.
Anyways, does anyone know much about the lens? I doubt it's a true "macro." Maybe something along the lines of close focuser like the industar 61 L/Z? Any input would be wonderful! Thank you

I saw several on ebay that went over $200 - 2 Chinons and 1 Alpa.
I've read they are Tokina made.

Good thing I got it for $35 then...
Oh, according to some pictures I've found with the barrel extended, it looks like a 1:3 close focus lens. |

It's some sort of Chinese auction site, so I'm not entirely sure how long the link will remain intact, but for now there are a full 8 pictures. |
