I saw a mint Biotar and couldn't resist.

I hope I'm as happy with it as I am with my Helios 44s.

Now I just have to wait for delivery.

Someone's got an addiction Wink

Thing is, you'll get it and then start thinking about the next lens. Which will inevitably be the 44-3 you decided against last time Laughing

I learnt that in rehab Wink

Yes, the helios 44-3 (like the 44 and all the 44-2) has 6 blades.

And the S-M-C 1,4/50 has 6 blades too. Wink

Martin,

No matter how good a Helios is, there is always the secret wish to get back to "the original" heh?

Speaking of the Biotar, the one I have on my Pentacon original (AKA Contax D) has both focussing and aperture rings seized up solid; the grease they used did not go the distance. I need to get it taken apart (if possible), cleaned out completely and reassembled some time; I hope yours fair better, but I would imagine it is something that needs to be done eventually.
