A curiosity anyway. They were intended for the early Mamiya Prismat SLR with Exakta bayonet. Peter Dechert says it came by way of an arrangement by the Osawa trading co. The OM allegedly stands for Osawa-Mamiya.

He also speculates that they were a batch of second quality Canon 50/1.8 lenses. My speculation is they were surplus of an older spec. lens after Canon made a change in the optical design.

Nice find ! Those days Exakta was so popular almost any maker made Exakta lenses , but Canon is surprise really.
