A recent arrival given to me by a kind friend. Most are crops and one is at infinity focus. All shot hand held from 15-20 feet distance except the cows. LOL f/5.6 and f/8.0.

Vivitar fans have long crowed about this lens and you show us why. Nice detail and sharp.

Not as good as your recent posting but not bad either. It (the lens) doesn't do very good wide open though. f/5.6 to f/11 it does a nice job. And thank you again. Have you run any film through that camera yet?

Most around 15 feet at a guess. Here is an original pre-crop photo.

Really nice bird pics and then handhelded. Very good.

But when I saw your pic with the cows my first thought was "Why are the birds more trustingly than the cows"? It looks like that the pic was shot from the ambush Wink

Sorry Scott, M42. Lens is in exceptional condition, very little use. Reason for sale I have the same lens but with rare 18 blade diaphragm.

Thank you Rolf. The cows were very far away and I shot them through about 5 or 6 trees.

Thanks Paolo. It really does a great job. You just have to do some of the work to make it perform.

The auto-focus version (Komine & Cosina made) of this lens is very good too. It actually outperformed the legendary Nikon 180mm.
