Hi, here is new dumb comparison.

1) Canon FD 55mm F1.2 S.S.C. converted to EF-mount
2) Yashica ML 55mm F1.2
3) Contax Planar 55mm F1.2 100 year Planar anniversary model
4) Minolta MC Rokkor-PG F1.2 converted to EF-mount (fungus infested at rear element, but cleaned)

a) whole
b) 100% crop of centre area (actuall center is middle of plate in the back ground, by the it is IMARI)
c) 200% of the same area only for Planar 55/1.2 (since it is so sharp, I can enlarge upto 400%, but you only see pixcels)

FD55

ML55

P55

PG58

Yes Planar 55/1.2 wins the sharpness contest, but Rokkor-PG 58/1.2 is performing pretty well IMHO.
I did whole 24 50sh normal lens testing yesterday and today, they have slightly different focal length
I do not want to compare them, but am flexible. My photo samples do not have border area too much,
which I normally do not care. Someone may not like it, but this time there is no chance. Very Happy

I shot everything in RAW mode with EOS_5D, developed into Jpeg with USM 130%, 0.8Pixcel, theshold1.
No other PP is involved except re-sizing, and made to 72ppi for web showing.

Enjoy, I can show you f1.4 - f11 of the same scene.

interesting comparison
all those lens look very good
the Rokkor get great review lately
the blue border of the plate in the background is different
with the Canon it is almost not blurred and on the Rokkor blurred a lot
maybe it is the character of each lens, or different focus

Sorry 200% one does not work well.
Yes Attila, I have an anniversary one.
These test shots are not much fun, eh.

It seems I slightly back focused with FD55/1.2.
The following one is FD55/1.2 shot yesterday, 100% crop.

Got the Super/SMC tak in there somewhere too? If so, how did it perform?

Can you post some more pics made with the Canon FD 55/1.2 ? And some pics of the lens itself?

I have one lying around, it needs to be cleaned, but i want to know if it would make any sense converting this to EOS.

Who did the conversion, do you have any pics of the process?

Welcome to aboard!

Canon FD perhaps not the best 1.2 lens , but definitely good idea to get usage on EOS.
