Not freelensing this time but still playing with an appropriate setup for imagemaking.
Of course this lens has no aperture diaphragm.
First some images taken - as is - wide open.
Then some images taken with a home made aperture inserted.
OH
Wide open:
Now with cardboard aperture disk.

No - still struggling with longer distances.
I'll have to come back to that when I get it right.

Thom,
Amazing - with a big A!
It's hard for me to decide what I like the most in this series: bokeh, sharpness, colors... It's a fantastic discovery this lens, you can play along years only with those "macro's" shots,...
In moments like this, I remember the guys which argue against manufacture control in the russian optical products - correct argumentation btw - and I just imagine what they could have been done with a quality control "à la" german or japanese standards...
Cheers,

I suspect the lens might work out well at medium distance for portraits and such. I'm not thinking infinity distance, but inside focusing range. I have purchased a Polish projector lens 1.8/120 that I'm thinking might be very much like yours. I don't have it yet and then I'll have to figure out how to use it, much like what you're doing. _________________ Regards,

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback..
The cardboard aperture was very rough and not perfectly symmetrical (cut with scissors )
Roughly the aperture is f10
I'll make a better one today and perhaps see if it makes any difference.

Looking at the spec of lens I must say that output is stunning (not to mention and appreciate photographer skills which play main role here ). Some more please; plus photo of finished setup if possible
