I don't think I've ever seen it referred to as small format before - 'Miniature format' yes loads of places, but then the largest size I use these days doesn't quite make it to half plate.
You could try relabelling FF to '1/30 plate' but I doubt it would catch on. |

Yes, the 8x10 26mp sensor is the largest known.
The SLAC sensor consists of 189 much smaller individual 16-megapixel sensors.
