I got this from a Goodwill auction - it looked like an interesting M42 lens to try out. I do not see any information about it online, except for a brief entry on allphotolenses. Anyone used it before?

These older Fujinon zoom lenses were good in their day.
Depending on what you're going to mount it on, do watch out for the little coupling lug on the rear of the aperture ring that allowed open-aperture TTL meter reading on suitably equipped Fujica SLRs.
This lug can jam against the body of some other M42 cameras, both causing the aperture ring to jam and preventing the lens from fully seating.
I still use several of my old Fujinon primes on my Pentax SLRs and DSLRs, but I've filed the lugs off the aperture rings |

So I started some investigation on this lug and found....https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/211-vintage-cameras-equipment/466548-fujinon-ebc-m42-mount-wont-change-aperture-m42-camera.html
You're ubiquitous! I wonder how many people here on MF are also on PF. |

Haha
That picture I posted there dates from my old Fujica Camera reference site about 25 years ago
https://web.archive.org/web/20040627025427fw_/http://www.toptown.com/NOWHERE/KYPFER/fujica.htm
I'd been using Fujica SLRs at that point for about 20 years ... a significantly under-rated system ... which meant, at the time, Fujica-screw mount lenses were available almost for free |

Quite a big lens for this category. Most of them are pretty compact for travel. I guess this was aimed more at the semi-pro market. You may need to file of the little notch on the rear to be able to use it with an adapter.

Can't find anything with the same exact specs. If not made by Fujifilm then explicitly for them. _________________ pentaxian |

Well, I had to correct my post. It looks like there was an official Fuji zoom lens; it's even EBC-coated.
I'm not sure, but I doubt that Fuji would use a third-party lens and add EBC.
I could be wrong, though (as always).
