I wonder if that is good? I saw the pictures Attila took, but that is rather hard to tell if that is a good lens...

Hi Klaus,

I have a MC 3M-5CA 8/500. IMO, it is a sharp and contrasty lens for a mirror lens. It becomes a 8/1000 lens(35mm eqivalent) on an Olympus DSLR, and it is quite compact. Cool

I guess it is the 3m5ca 8/500mm , which is a recent version (1975 ?) of the mto 500a (8,5/550mm) . I own the 2 , and I can say they are very good . This version has no tripod attachment , but mc treatment . The oldest (my copy is a 1972 vintage) give a bit yellowish color rendition , and a good contrast . The mc version is not better in terms of sharpnes , but shows a slightly better contrast.

Best variant to me 6.3/500mm MTO lens.

My favorite Russian mirror lens is MC3M-7K 5.6/300. It is sharp and contrast, and it is compact and light. Very Happy

I have compared my 500/8 Russian mirror to a Zeiss Fernobjektiv 500/8. They are about equally sharp, but the mirror lens has a different out of fucus area image.

Beijing's camera market. It is quite rare, the famous collector Nathan of USA hasn't found one yet. Laughing
