I've already picked the one I like best, which is why I'm going after those
lenses/cams:

Not very scientific, different film as well, just a subjective observation.

I do not like the first one, which means that is the one you like Very Happy

No Mike, I like the second shot best.

Thanks, Attila, that's my second choice. The first shot is with Canonet GIII,
second shot is with Konica T4 with Hexanon 40/1.8 lens, and last one is
recent pic from Yashica Electro 35 GT.

My vote goes to the first one but may be with a tad less saturation.

Maybe the film has some influence as well, which film did you use in each shot, Mike?.

BTW, my choice is #2 even if I don't like the composition (the diffussed fence in the first plane), but colours look more natural.

Jes.

Different film?
That prevents a real comparison, IMHO.

It also depends on what you want to express with a photo.
For my general liking, the first one is too saturated, even in the second one the green is a tiny bit too "green", too yellowish warm. I like the last one, but it's a little overexposed.
So a mixture between two and three would be perfect in my eyes.

I would have said
1- canon colors
2 - takumar colors
3 - Zeiss colors
I prefer the neutral Yashica colors
but probably color processing of scanner played for a lot

I think the major change in those three images is the lighting, the first two seem like sunset (first is maybe a bit warmer), and the third looks like sunrise, a bit overexposed. If it's different film as well, it's quite difficult to compare the lenses.

Film used:
#1--Arista 100
#2--Kodak Gold 200
#3--Reala 100

Lighting: 1 and 2 in afternoon and 3 in the morning. Also solstice change
plays a part in quality of light.

As before, not very scientific.

Thanks for your views and comments, fellas.

Bill

If you look at the color of the trees, #3 seems the most natural although it seems a bit over exposed in places.

I think you would have to use the same film in all three cameras to get a real comparison.

The n° 2 - hexanon 40/1,8 lens - have a reminisence of the warms leica lenses of the minolta era (middle of the 70's to middle of the 80's). Remember that konica followed the leica lenses way in some periods.

It's my favorite.

Ron, agree, using the same film in all cameras would have been of benefit.

Estudleon, Hexanons are my favorite lenses, love them! I now have two
T4's, one TC, and one T3 camera bodies. If some one wants the T3 body,
LMK as the T4 is my absolute fave in Konica. In lenses I have 50/1.4, 50/1.7,
28/3.5, 40/1.8, and the UC 80-200 zoom.

Thanks for your comments, fellas.

Bill

I left aside the color, and tried to make out sharpness - contrast & resolution. It's difficult as I couldn't really find equivalently lit bits. But of the first two I feel the first one's sharper.

Nesster, I have to agree, the first one seems sharper. It might be the way
I processed the image as I'm still experimenting with different processes
for negs.

You can tell by the colour of the light and the shadows... Wink
