I was just curious about how my 135mm capable lenses perform at 135mm. This is not a fair fight but I have just these so this is it:
# One prime: Pentacon auto 135/2.8 MC (M42 Mount, ???)
# One old zoom: Tamron 80-210/2.8-4 (Adaptall2 mount,1979-1982)
# One modern zoom: Canon EF 28-135/3.5-5.6 IS USM (EOS mount)

First thing that I must say is Canon is shorter than the other 2 old lenses, I don't know why this is like that, if anybody has a logical idea I would be happy to listen.

This shot is taken from the same spot:

And 100% crop at f:5.6:
*System resizes the photos so take a look at flickr ones for 100% crop

* Pentacon is likely a bit lack of focus when compared the other two

After the tests I can't tell which one is better, sorry I guess my first comparision test isn't that successfull or they don't have much more differences. Any suggestion for improving the test is welcomed Smile

MF f:5.6, f:8 and f:11 as full sizes can be seen here (the same shutter speeds and flash powers are being used for each aperture value):

Have to say the Canon wins this one. Last comes the Pentacon, but that might've changed if the focus was better (probably). My vote is based on sharpness only.
