Hmm a few weeks ago I spotted a GAF SLR with the Tomioka 55mm f1.4... a legendary lens.. I snapped it up (no pun intended) and when I got it... the aperture blades were not working..

Eventually I opened the thing up and discovered oil all over them. By very patient efforts with lighter fluid camel brush and lint free cloth I got this off, and lo.. a working lens (though it has no aperture detentes as the twit who 'lubricated' it must have lost the little ball bearing when he or she did so.. nevertheless it works perfectly well as it is.. then.. I win this..
I now have effectively two Memotron CE11 and two Tomioka 55mm lenses.. it never rains but it pours.. and this one with working camera was 28 dollars, whereas the bare lenses have been reaching 100 dollars + lately...?

I now have to get out and take some pics.. this will fit on the Pentax, not been taking too many shots lately as chronic toothache requiring much root canal work has kept me indoors in a sour mood! Sad

Oh well, let's await some sunshine and see.. I also have 5 rolls of film from Contaflex 126, Contaflex Super-B, Minolta X-700, Canon AE-1 and Panasonic L-1 with Minolta and Tokina macros to have developed... Hmm I see a busy weekend!

Hope everyone is having a great summer, and Orio, I meant to mention my heart goes out to you....

Yours have the Tomioka name ?

That by itself seems to be worth a lot.

It seems to me that one can still find the same lens under Ricoh and Sears brands for giveaway prices though.

Nope it says GAF and the other Chinon but both serials give game away.. so not bad as pair cost less than 40 dollars and today acquired nice Spotmatic and Konica Electronic Auto SE and 135, 200 and 50mm Takumars for 26 dollars at Goodwill Portland:-)

So happy me!
