New (for me) place to search and bid on lenses!

I don’t know if the non-US members are aware of a store chain in the US. It’s called “Goodwill Industries”.

It runs completely on donated goods. Goodwill then fixes the things up if they need it using people who can’t work in mainstream jobs, homeless, physically challenged, mentally impaired, and people with other disabilities.

All the profits from the sales go to charitable causes. There are stores everywhere the US. They sell at very low cost.

Perhaps some of you know about this but they are now on line in a something-like eBay format, (no buy it now) and there other differences.

I discovered their site a couple of weeks ago and have bought a few things.

One 16mm movie camera, $5.00 USD.

One Sears TLS 1000 SLR (The Camera is a rebadged Mamiya) with two M42 lenses, a Sears/Secor 55mm lens and a Sears/Secor 135mm lens. Also Mamiya lenses, along with a carry bag for $14.01 USD

Oh damn, you all let the news out!

It is a good auction site as there's lots of merchandise and the bidding is relatively calm. And good buys can be had. I've bought half a dozen lenses and a couple of cameras there.

i notice that quite a few ebay lens sellers like gooeyduck are scarfing up lenses on the goodwill site so that's the secret... buy on goodwill and resell on ebay

i'm not in the US either so can't use this
