This lens is also listed as being available with a Minolta SR mount, in the days of Leitz-Minolta cooperation. I don't know whether any were actually made, as they were special order and not that cheap. I know of more fanatical Minolta fans than myself doubting that there are any of these in existance. So if you happen to have one of these lying around..

On the topic of Leitz/Minolta, I just couldn't keep myself from buying a nice black anodized XD7.

Wow! That is one big lens. In my book though the price sort of kills it. I'm using the 560/6.8 because at under $1000 it was a cost effective purchase. But if I spent the same amount of money as they want for that lens I could get the Canon 600/4 and a wimberly head, team it with my 1.4 and be there with IS and AF.

But still, a very cool lens.

DickB, wise purchase on the XD-7. I have one that I will never part with. It is my favorite MF Minolta body:
