Folks,
For the last couple of days the www.mflenses.com homepage (not the forum) seems to be inaccessible.
For a while any Google searches with the "site:mflenses.com" directive also turned up no results, although this now seems to have come back and is working again.
The mflenses forum (https://forum.mflenses.com) is still accessible if you use the direct login link.
I used to access this forum by just going to the www.mflenses.com homepage and clicking on the "Forum" link, but this is no longer accessible, so I am now using the direct login link (https://forum.mflenses.com/login.php).
Anyone aware of any maintenance issues re. the www.mflenses.com home page? (Attila's MFlenses banner at the top of this forum also no longer works). _________________ Mark

Sounds awfully similar to what happened (gradually) to the artaphot site. I noticed an (unrelated) bogus hompage / starting site when trying to reach "mflenses.com" (including a securty warning from firefox); exactly the sameas when troubles started first with the artaphot site.
Not good.

And now the direct login link doesn't work anymore either...
I'm not going to say how I still got in, in case some joker is trying to deny all access points... _________________ Mark

I use both Chrome and Safari, and I was experiencing the problem on both browsers. I don't think it was a browser compatibility issue. But Attila already fixed it, whatever it was _________________ Mark

mflenses.com operate again.
This was, until now, the most tricky and largest scale attack
I had to ban 148 000 unique IP addresses.
Blocklist written to blocklist.txt
Ipset add script written to block_ipset.sh

OMG thanks Attila that this is gone!!! _________________ Klaus - Admin

Perplexity is using stealth, undeclared crawlers to evade website no-crawl directives https://blog.cloudflare.com/perplexity-is-using-stealth-undeclared-crawlers-to-evade-website-no-crawl-directives/
| Quote: |
Although Perplexity initially crawls from their declared user agent, when they are presented with a network block, they appear to obscure their crawling identity in an attempt to circumvent the website’s preferences. We see continued evidence that Perplexity is repeatedly modifying their user agent and changing their source ASNs to hide their crawling activity, as well as ignoring — or sometimes failing to even fetch — robots.txt files.
Cloudflare engineers tested the behavior by creating new domains with robots.txt files prohibiting all automated access. Despite the restrictions, Perplexity provided detailed information about the protected content when queried, while the stealth crawler generated 3-6 million daily requests across tens of thousands of domains. The undeclared crawler rotated through multiple IP addresses and network providers to evade detection. |
