This is in the rear optical group of a Schneider 60mm Curtagon for Exakta 66/P6. This was costly but also hard to find. I'm weighing having it serviced vs returning it. I believe there is a cemented elements in the rear group, but I can't find optical diagrams for these Schneider made Exakta 66 lenses (I have 60/80/150/250). There is another Curtagon for auction right now with identical rear group haze. Pics below. Those concentric rings in the haze/fungus make nervous about some sort of atypical separation...?

Opinions?

almost always, in my case, haze have hiden more issues than seen before cleaning, and those issues have gotten to be worse

According to Lens BD the Schneider Curtagon 60mm for 6x6 Exacta would be a [7/7] construction, thus no doublet which could have problems with cementing: https://lens-db.com/schneider-kreuznach-curtagon-60mm-f35-multicoating-s-1984/

Not sure if that's true, but the pollution on the images shown above don't look like a typical "hazy" cemented group e. g. from Sigma (in other words it looks more like a polluted lens surface)

That's helpful. Thank you. I kept the lens, but haven't sent it in for service yet. I was trying to decide who to send it to and got busy with other things. I have a feeling it will clean up nicely.

This looks a lot like a lens that has previously had fungus and been cleaned, leaving bare patches in one of the inner coatings.

I finally took this lens in to my local repair shop. The technician looked at the lens with great concern. He took the lens into the back room for closer inspection and then came back five minutes later: I'm really glad you brought this in. Another year and this would have done coating damage. HE HAD TAKEN THE REAR GROUP OUT AND CLEANED IT. All haze gone. He said it was lubricant out-gassing. Advance Camera in Portland, Oregon. Just an incredible shop.
