Nobody seems to be able to supply M1.8's. I have a lens with missng bolt, and a diy'ed adapter* that I mistakenly tapped M1.8 only to realise that my 8mm bolts are M1.6. they fit but they're loose. My engineering friend suggested a bit of fine filler to fill out the hole, I may try that.
I've ordered a very cheap die from china....I'll try filing down M2.5's to 1.8mmm and threading them.
*My pentacon 500mm is now an adaptall

Thanks visualopsins. That's the body of a tokina 2x tc, cut down and fitted with the ad mount off a fungussed 80-210mm. It was a bit finicky because the pentacon has a prominent raised ridge on its mount, I had to shape an acrylic disk to fit over that.
And the substitute mounts for takumar 500mm and 1000mm are done too.
I made 4 of these so three available to interested persons, who would like the facility of adaptall-ising their 500mm f4.5 or 1000mm f8, easy adaption to any camera, use the tamron adaptall 02F eyepiece adapter and have a nice big scope.
Pic 2 shows the sub mount next to the mount off my K 1000mm. AFAIK the mounts are essentially the same, taks and K series, K series are K bayonet of course

My small dies arrived from China - M1.8 and a M1.7. I filed down a M2.5 12mm bolt using my drill press and a small "warding" flat file and rethreaded it M1.8 - success. But the fit of the bolt was just too tight - M1.7 after all not M1.8, fortunately I had had the wit to get that die too. So I successfully took the M1.8 down to M1.7 (same pitch) and replaced the missing bolt. Then I tried to take down a second one and ....disaster. The bolt snapped leaving a stub jammed in the die. Didn't have the wit to get two of each of them while I was at it, should have done they were that cheap.
Any ideas to get out the snapped off stub?
The dies are just 11.9mm across (15/32"), I made a holder out of a small piece of 6mm polycarbonate sheet. Rather than attemp to turn the die on the bolt shank, I used a screwdriver to screw the bolt into the die.
I decided to rethread the screw holes on the adapter I made for the pentacon 500mm for M2 bolts, that worked fine. _________________ pentax ME super (retired)
