You might want to consider doing UV white balancing using matted (sanded down) white Teflon (alcohol rinsed and untouched)

Looks better - I do lift the shadows a bit at times to not lose structures in the dark center.
The Baader-U is my "work horse" since about 10 years now, hard to find a better one...

Hi all
I stumbled upon this old UV lens for spares and repairs, and I couldn't resist buying it. Looking online, the only information I found is the link below.

It indicates that it is a UV lens.
So I have a couple of questions:
1. What is the use case of this lens? I can use a full-spectrum camera with a UV filter attached to any lens to achieve UV photography. But what is the difference when this lens is adapted to a mirrorless camera?
2. There are some technical issues with the lens. The focus ring seems to be not working—it is loose, and the screw on it moves with it. When I try to turn the ring, it just moves freely without affecting the helicoid. Additionally, the M42 cap is very stuck to the back of the lens. When I try to unscrew it, the focusing ring and screws come off, exposing the cap on the back. The upper half contains all the optical elements, while the lower part has none. I will provide pictures when I can; I am currently away.
Additionally, does anyone on the forum have a similar lens or experience with a similar lens?
