I got one of these 50 1.4's a short while ago and haven't really used it a lot, and there's no reason for not using it - it's a great lens. I shall have to make the effort...

There are test photos of that lens:

Sony Alpha DSLR-A100

1/1250 с; f/1,4; ISO 100

1/500 с; f/4,0; ISO 100

1/160 с; f/8,0; ISO 100

From the RAW file. Only raised up little the contrast.

Very nice rendering on the portrait, plenty of sharpness and details, wonder how easy to focus is on that camera the manual lenses ?

To say the truth - it is so-so. But still bearable anyway.

Of course, I'm referring to how would you compare to focusing on mirrorles Sony etc

No comparison at all.

At the Sony 7 camera you are able - at firs, to use function of accentuation of sharp zone on the screen. And, at the second - it is very easy to magnify the part of the screen for the better image focusing.

I even wouldn't say that the screen is illuminated at dark, or closed diaphragm situation.
