This projector lens is not often seen. The 85mm 2.8 comes up relatively frequently. Typical Staeble fabrication barrel in all aluminum. Finished in the anodized black with the period design esthetic zebra ribs it is a handsome lens:

Reverse mount adaptation was via a push fit bushing made from a a plastic bottle cap with the top cut out with a few turns of electrical tape.. plus the usual stack of m42 helicoids. Also included is a mm42-m42 behind the lens aperture. The camera with contraption:

Let's see if the results of this lens are indeed 'stellar' Wink
Curious!

I did the reverse mount because I'm lazy, I could relatively easily get the front of the barrel inside a 52 mm helicoid and use bushings to center. The other end also has a pretty deep tube to fit inside the projector which worked as a built in hood. I finally managed to figure out how to convert my ARW files to jpg. Initially I had set my camera to auto process to both but was on a hike and realized I only had a low capacity chip and wanted to make sure I didn't run out of space and set it to ARW only. Then I forgot to reset it when I got back. A few samples:

I got the error message again the first time I tried this image. It did say "may exceeddata limit" in the message so I resized it just a bit and it worked. Is the 1900000auto resize widget broken maybe?

another.

same thing failed this tie. with 410 error.

Trying with a massive resize down to 4000 wide...

Yay! it worked. Hard to get a good idea of quality from a tiny image though.

I got the 410 errors too when uploading photos. It happened from time to time and I have no idea why?

10 to 12MP is good enough imho.
