The Kromar I 9 cm f/1.9 seems to be a projection lens, most likely for a cine projector. It's hard to say for sure, but I would assume that it is quite old (focal length in cm is often a sign for that, materials as well and the lens is also uncoated). There is no manufacturer written on the lens, but the I found out that the logo on it is the one used by C.P. Goerz, which of course was a notable manufacturer from Berlin, Germany. It's possible that this lens was made by Goerz Wien in Austria but I can't say for sure.
I suspect that the serial number is separate from the usual Goerz taking lenses, because it's very low (4832) and I think it would be very unusual otherwise with its f/1.9 aperture otherwise. The lens appears to be a Petzval design and while it perhaps is not among the sharpest of its kind, it can take nice images and create what I perceive to be a very pleasant and smooth look. It works on full frame but the image circle doesn't seem to be very big for a 90 mm lens, so I assume it was either used for 16 mm or 35 mm projection.
Goerz produced a number of cine projectors but there's not a lot of detailed documentation about those online. Many seem to have been produced under the Goerz-Hahn banner. It's possible that this lens was used on one of the Hahn projectors - perhaps the Hahn I, given the I on the inscription of the lens...
If you know some more details about all of this, please share them - I'd love to know about that! _________________ ---
