Kiev Contax Mount to Sony E mount?

Hi there,

I'm looking at a Jupiter12 35 f/2.8 and it comes with this mount:


I'm having a hard time finding info about the mount type and if there's any adapter for the A6000.
Any info?

Contax/Kiev External/Outer baynoet.

This is the cheapest adapter. Not good but works.

Your lens' mount is indeed kiev/contax rf bayonet.
The original mount on kiev/contax rangefinder cameras had two ways of mounting lenses: normals used the "inner bayonet" which took advantage of a focusing mechanism incorporated in the camera body, while wides and teles have their own focusing system, and mount on the "outer bayonet" - your jupiter 12 is one of those.
Adapters for outer bayonet are quite cheap, while the ones that have both inner and outer bayonet are more expensive, as they are more complex and usually made with parts from broken kiev cameras - I bought an excellent one from Attila here, and a cheap and nasty outer bayonet from ebay that wobbles a bit, but does its job.
Now the bad news: your jupiter will probably hit the shutter of your a6000 - never tried that exact camera, but it is reported to happen with other nex models - as the rear element sits extremely close to the sensor, so I'd be very careful with it.

It wont fit your NEX. I have the same lens/camera combo and an adapter. The lens goes back further than the shutter.

From what I understand, the rear lens will not touch the shutter as people have mounted and used it on the Sony A7 series with no problems, the issue seems to be the plastic shroud that surrounds the APS-C sensor, the lens element makes contact with it.

The cheap adapters from Ukraine are probably fine for the small 50mm Contax RF lenses.

I wouldn't try using them with heavier external bayonet lenses like the 85mm Sonnar or the Jupiter-9 though. They're not tough enough to support that king of weight.
