Still a great lens. My best 300mm MF lens. I try to work this lens always wide open (or f5,6 max) due to the creamy bokeh with good 3D effect. For example, the last picture would, in my opinion, look better with a fully open aperture and thus a blurred background

Are you talking about the actual (and rare) Nikkor*ED 300mm f/4.5, or about the common Nikkor*IF-ED 300mm f/4.5 ?
