What do you use for the rear cap of your 50mm Contax bayonet mount lenses. I see there are a few after market caps available but they are about the same price as my lens. Does anyone have any other solutions to the rear lens cap for the Contax RF mount? _________________ Karen |

The commenters in this thread on another forum say that a plastic 35mm film canister may be the right dimensions. I have several Jupiter 8 lenses needing rear caps, but have not got around to trying this yet:

Welcome kmcsmart!
Although not a simple rear lens cap per se, here's an elegant storage solution for RF lenses (of course more rear lens caps are needed):

Those are all great suggestions, thanks. My Jupiter 8 and Helios 103 are in the mail now. When they arrive I will try the plastic film canister and see how that works.
If I decide to keep my lenses long term I will probably spring for some of these. They look great.

I hope you enjoy those two. I've got both and I like them a lot. They're a couple of the biggest lens bargains available. |

Those metal end caps came with Soviet lenses are are perfect.
Besided the Helios103 I had a Jupiter 3 (1952 vintage) which was an outstanding lens
Many Ukrainian sellers had both lenses and caps for cheap but now with the war the source has dried
