Nice shots! That's a lens I like a lot, which is really inexpensive (here in the states) for what you get in build and optical quality.

I used to have this lens and regret selling it. Very nice images you have there.

OH

What color barrel was this lens black or polished silver (aluminum?) ?

Just got one in the polished aluminum finish just like the type 1
Serenar but branded Canon. Not a big deal but canon branded LTM lenses are black barreled types 2 and 3 according to Canon’s own site and others.

The switch from Serenar to Canon Lens was a marketing decision not directly tied to lens production. It was not tied, one to one, with the new body style. When Canon switched over its marketing from Serenar to Canon Lens there were a lot of unsold Serenar lenses in the pipeline. It was easier to move these out with a simple change of the beauty ring. A number of older style lenses were sold with the Canon label.

Thanks, NEWST. That was my surmise.

The build quality is there, but as mentioned earlier in the thread so is the weight -565 grams.
