One of my first manual lenses, and it's still one of my favorites.
Its biggest strength is lower than standard contrast, especially at 2.5.
On aps-c it's a good normal lens for when I want smooth, not super crispy shots.

I really like #3, on film this lens looks more than capable of shooting great photos. As a guitarist I have to appreciate Ibanez (RG Premium?) shoots Smile, is it yours? Very nice looking flame'y body, I like it a lot. Very good lighting on #5 where bridge looks satin-perfect for me. You did very good job in cleaning the guitar as well Wink, I always end up with some fingerprints on body when I'm shooting mine Wink.

Cheers
Mateusz

#3 turned out better than I hoped, definitely no slouch! Thanks! Yes you are correct, it's a RG premium, desert red. It's a sweet looking guitar alright. There was no cleaning necessary since it was brand new in the photos! And no special light setup was required. Unfortunately I can't play and it's not mine. My bro asked me to take a few shots of it, for bragging purposes I'm sure Wink Cheers!

Splendid presentation. I think it is also usable for poetic landscape shots. Using the lens at F2.5. Not for everyone but some can make it.

I sold my copy because I thought it was too soft and glowy until closed to f5.6. Didn't occur to me that could be a desirable quality. Smile

Yes this lens can produce poetic, glowy photos. Even if you stop it down a bit it still has that character, just as Ian's copy.
But yeah, I find it desirable at times! Very Happy Probably good for video as well.

Some macro spring shots on a Sony a7 and helicoid adapter.

I have one too. It's one of the Kiron made Panagors. Mine has diamond shapes on the focus ring not ribs

Is yours a PMC version? Mine isn't

It has nice bokeh reminiscent of the later 28mm F2 also made by Kiron for Vivitar and also for Panagor but not very many. The F2 is more distinctly soap bubbly

It has the same front ring as yours without PMC. Yous is a later version is my guess.

Nice shot.

I have found my copy of the panagor to be a good 28. Lenses like the tokinas and sigma miniwide II are better f2.8 vs f2.5, but the panagor rapidly improves stopping down and is is anything better than those lenses at eg f8. Certainly the colours are brighter.
Cropped (top and bottom), levels adjusted. Pentax K3-ii (24MPx apsc).

F2.5. Click to pull up full sized.
