Well, after all, a great many of our MF lenses have the ability to fill a full frame. No?

I stumbled across this compendium of lower end FF camera bodies which can "see" all those MF lenses see.

Everybody, especially the reviewer in the link, is leaving out one important word. And that word is "digital."

Because the cheapest full frame cameras are film cameras, which can be bought all day long for as cheap as $10, and sometimes even less for the P&S cameras. Of course, if you want an SLR, then you'll likely have to cough up $20-50. Which is a very far cry from $1,000.

Sorry, I just had to defend film. Long live film!

Thanks for the interesting link.

I had to chuckle when I actually read the story. I figured a Canon would be #1. But I was expecting it to be a (used) 5D.
For me, $1000 isn't "cheap".

the prices seem off - i got an a7ii w/ kit lens almost two years ago now for just under $1000, and have seen the body go for $700

That's a commercial. Paid linking to stores. Only new camera's

To start Cheap get a used Sony A7 or A7II (skip DSLR/SLT (Especially NIKON) because it limits the amount of lenses you can adapt).
