This is a TV lens designed during same years as the 1965-67 series for Ostankino (the white TV lenses), but it has not a similar design. It's also not an Helios design as it has 6 elements in 5 groups, and it's obvious on photos also. Volosov says that this lens was designed with a special attention to avoid aberrations. IQ and bokeh reminds me the Zenitar 50mm/1.7 that was produced a decade later by KMZ.
Here are somes photo on A7 I have made recently.

Very nice indeed, I'd love one of these, must be quite rare today.
I have an actual Helios-44 from the same era that renders very similarly, I think it's just a normal 44, but it has the 00 serial for selected items for party officials, big wigs etc. so it was probably hand assembled using the best parts off the production line.
I love Russian glass, there are more Russian produced lenses among my all-time favourites than any other nation. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

This lens rendering looks like Zenitar 50/1.7 for me. The 95 has a 6/5 design, Zenitar 50/1.7 has 6/5 too, but I have never seen the diagram of the 95... so only suppositions. _________________ Pierre
