Hi All,

The other day I picked up a Schneider Kreuznach 200mm 5.5. Aesthetically it has definitely seen some use, but it's not terrible. Mechanically and optically it is in very good condtion as far as I can tell. Judging by the serial number and a serial number list I found it was made somewhere around 1955-1956.

I am really impressed with it optically. Today I took some test shots comparing it to my Olympus OM 200mm 4.0. This is a "version 4" of this lens. This Olympus is my standard go-to 200mm lens.

Here is a side by side of a 100% crop. The building is about 800 meters away. Olympus on the left, Schneider on the right. Straight out of camera. EDIT: Forgot to mention: Olympus E-M1 Mark II.

Regards, C.

Is the Schneider lens similar to the Retina SRL version in DKL mount?

I'm not surprised, long focus tessars are in general, sharp, well corrected lenses and this one is no exception. Congrats on your new acquisition. Smile

I don't know, I am not familiar with that version.
