Exacta question.

Does anyone know if the lens from an Exakta VP (127 roll-film) will fit and focus on one of the Exakta/Exa 35mm cameras?
The lens mount looks very similar, may even be the same, but if so, what's the back focus distance like?
I'm familiar with Exa cameras, even have one that works (and a couple of paper-weights), and I use the lenses occasionally for a bit of fun, either on my mirrorless or in close-up on my Pentax cameras.
There's opportunity locally to acquire an Exakta VP, very much a "for parts" example, but it does have a lens fitted.
Just interested to know if it'd be any use to me without getting the seller's hopes up Wink

Exakta VP use a helicoid on the camera to focus. I adapted a 7.5cm F2.8 to Nikon F with a helicoid. So, the lens should work on Exakta 35mm camera if you have an adapter with a helicoid.

Thanks … the picture of the one available locally looked like it might have been a similar mount to the later cameras … I was mistaking the helix lock for a lens release latch!

The 0,75mm lens on my VP Exakta does have a wide focussing helix, but it also unscrews with a roughly 39mm (non Leitz) thread, so to adapt it to something like a bellows or another type helix, a simple threaded adapter would do.

I use a M40 adapter for my 7.5cm 2.8 lens head. The I forget the thread pitch but it should be 0.75mm.
