These on a modern extension tube, on D-810.

At f 2.8 here.

At f5.6.

At f2.8 again.
All are s.o.o.c. jpegs, and un-manipulated except for re-size to fit here.

I was not expecting this out of what is a somewhat marginal performer in a lot of general scenics.
There are a lot of c/a's in strong backlighting.

Overnight temperatures are starting to drop here already. We are within 3 weeks of first frost, and I'm going to have to hustle to get the other 135mm lenses into some comparison shooting. This particular sample has a lot of internal dust from the felt on the built in hood. Incidentally, the above were shot with the lens extended to MFD.

Could not replicate yesterday's shots~ it went down to 9 C last night, and the tulip petals have all fallen.
The following will have to make do.

Soligor 135mm f2.8 on the same tube:

At f2.8.

At f5.6

At f2.8 here.

Nikkor Q f 3.5 on the same tube:

At f3.5

At f5.6

At f3.5

Here are the lenses used from L to R:

Nikkor Q 135mm f 2.8, Soligor 135mm f 2.8, Nikkor Q 135mm f 3.5.

Which one wins?
I like the rendering of the Nikkor Q 135mm f3.5 the best of the bunch. The Soligor manages to pull it's weight here, but is quite clearly something different. The Q 2.8 is interesting, but I think the 3.5 has more bite, especially as an all around lens.
