Hi All
This is a long shot, I am looking for a damaged Topcor RE Auto 28mm 2.8 condition doesn't matter as long as the rear element is usable. My copy was badly damaged prior to it coming to me.
I would be prepared to buy a working copy but the prices are fairly high especially the black versions
Or does anyone have a suggestion as to re-polishing the glass or any suggestions for spare parts I know these are rare but maybe someone knows of a Collector or has contact that could help.
Thanks Andrew |

Topcors havent held value very well as of late and nice black one can be had for $99 USD thats what the last one went for. I would hit up the fellows who have a best offer on theirs with that number. I would then sell you beater for 40-60......... Cost $70.....
This was a $200-300 lens not too long ago if memory serves. _________________ A7R4, GFX50R and a bucket of mflenses |

Interesting to hear ... The 2.8/28mm RE Topcor is a rather poor performer, at least compared to the common OEM 2.8/28mm lenses such as Nikkor, Canon nFD, or Minolta MC/MD. While the corners of the Topcor RE 2.8/28mm are surprisingly good, large parts of the field are rather poor. This is quite contrary to the performance of most OEM 2.8/28mm which are good over 85 - 95% of the image field, but have poor corners.

Good to know, maybe it’s not worth the effort to get it fixed or replaced |

The one sold for USD 99.-- was a RE 2.8/28mm (new). I was writing about the "classical" RE Topcor 2.8/28mm, not the "new" one. It may well be that the "new" has a better optical performance than the classical, even though the "classical" is much more expensive.

Well, there is the RE Topcor 28/2.8 made by Topcon and another later lens made by Cima.

Do I need 2? No, do I 'need' 1? No, I don't 'need' any lens, but I get why you asked.
I am willing to sell it or even trade it depending on the lens offered, since I can only use one of them at a time, and I only bought it because I was having issues with the first one, so bought a second to compare it to, turns out it was me and not the lens that was causing the issue.
It's in wonderful condition, like new, grip is in VG condition.
$300 USD + shipping.
Or
Contax G 28mm
Or
Super Yashinon-R 135mm Pentamatic mount.
Or
Pentax preset 105mm black
Or
Konica AR 135mm preset
PM if interested. _________________ A Manual Focus Junky...

What sort of Pentax 105? I have a Takumar 105mm 2.8 Preset with original Hood, it has some small cleaning marks on the front glass but takes good pictures if that's what your looking for? |

Yeah there are not Pentax presets
There are two versions of the Asahi Takumar 1:2.8 / 105 with different optics -- the first which is silver and black (4/4), and the second which is all black (5/4). The Auto-Takumar shares same 4/4 optics as the first preset.

I have both presets. Prefer silver and black for bokeh... _________________ ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮ like attracts like! ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮

This sounds like field curvature. Have you tested the lens for field curvature? |

This $99 lens? https://www.ebay.com/itm/203353941734
It was not made by Topcon, it was made by Cima, the serial gives it away (701xxxx), collectors are not really interested in it, so it sells for 1/3rd the real one sells for.
The RE 28mm made by Topcon has a serial starting with 141xxxx and have sold for $275 - $300 recently, there are copies asking for $400.
Early versions have a chrome filter ring, the later versions have an anodized filter ring. I think the switch happened around 1413000(I haven't done an exhaustive search).
Production is about 7000 lenses, Topcon Story lists 1416137 as the highest serial they serviced.
Lens construction is 7 elements in 7 groups. _________________ A Manual Focus Junky...
