That is Benoist Berthiot 1.5/50 lens for 8mm projector. It covers well APS-C but not FF.
The lens seems to be born from marriage of Jupiter 1.5/50 and Helios 44-2 2/58.
More seriously, this small one shares central sharpness and contrast with its bigger rectilinear brother and does not meet too much with a nice slide projector triplet of the same maker giving a pretty cinematic rendering. This one has a more particular character.

Thank you, fellows! Glad you liked the merry swirl.
Kymarto, you might be right. I am a bit confused by the specs in between 8mm and 16mm. The outer barrel is 42.5mm, but the bottom extremity is twice as narrow, like the 8mm lenses have. Maybe designed for both film types?
Gosh, Blazer0ne, are you an arthouse scriptwriter or what? You are pretty close to the story, even if its plot was calmer. Here are some missing links of the story chain. As you can see, not only flowers were eaten.

I've seen the first episode of Homecoming. It looks like being shoot with a slide projection triplet, kind of Heidosmat. Pretty cool gloomy atmosphere in fact.
I find it funny to modify a Panavision lens to reach a Heidosmat effect. |
