hey folks, another mirror lens!
this one (at least my copy of it) is.. not particularly good, but it also appears to be largely undocumented online, so here are some documentation.
it's slightly larger and heaver than a spiratone minitel-m or equivalent (promaster, quantaray, cambron etc) - image quality is better than 1980s korean-made quantaray, and perhaps slightly worse than the japanese-made spiratone minitel, not sharp at any distance but marginally better at the near and far ends of the lens

I was a good 300ft out from it too! interesting distinction with this lens, most of my other mirror lenses have the infinity marker right around 30m / 100ft, but this one has it slightly past 50m/200ft and indeed it does seem to resolve a bit better than expected out at that end, i was quite surprised |

Maybe try it with closer subjects.
I have found mine - Minolta 8/500 reflex - performs very well at distances out to around 5 metres, which is how I shoot it.
I would be very disappointed with results like yours.
Perhaps it performs best closer to the camera.

i have 8 or so of these now - this one is not the worst by far, but it's also just not sharp at any distance, enough so that it doesn't even trigger focus peaking highlights for the most part.
i'm not disappointed by these results because i wasn't expecting much different, would have been a much bigger surprise if they'd come out comparable to tamron 55b or other first-party results.
i will say tho, sharpness aside i am upon further consideration enjoying the color and bokeh rendering, it's got some character. |

it's surprisingly heavy (and nose-heavy, at that) for a compact mirror, even with IBIS i wasnt able to hold it as steady as i usually can with the other small 500s. |
