Today on a whimsy I had a look at a Finnish online auction site. I searched for camera bodies under 100 euros.
Then I saw this:
The caption was only : Old Nikon camera, price 20 euros.
The ad had been there only a few hours, but it was already reserved.
Damn, why I didn´t look earlier!!! _________________ Markku

Hmm, that Nikon must be something special?
What is this object of desire and what would one expect to pay for it from a more knowledgeable seller? |

Aha! Thank you for the help, visualopsins.
Now I understand Gurdie's disappointment.
The camera is a 1950s Nikon S2 which apparently sells for around $400 and up on ebay.
I don't recall missing out on such a bargain as that S2, but I do know near misses can sting for a long time afterward! |

This is a Nokon S3, and sells for $600 to $1200 depending on condition.
I picked up a Nikon M with 5cm F1.4, first batch, for $30 at an antique store years ago. Sometimes you get lucky. |
