Here is a Boyer Apo-Saphir 10/135. I know it was used for reproduction and was praised for its sharpness. So, what intrigued me even more was its infinity capabilities. I took several shots w/o (which is still a well narrow f10) and at f12.
All shots are handheld, mounted on bellows. Auto-contrast is applied, otherwise the images are lacking a bit of colour, quite ordinary for Heliar scheme. Still the sharpness and kind of clean "naturality" are well observed even before processing.
#1
#2
#3 A 100% crop from the previous
#4 A close-up
#5 A metallic roof construction taken at a large distance
The lens itself is small and unusually heavy. The diaphragm goes up to f45. There is a closing slot for drop-in diaphragm rings.
An interesting discussion on the forum of its larger 300mm relative was the the only well documented post I previously found about this type of lens. |
