QUANTARAY = Sigma?

The QUANTARAY lenses were manufactured by Sigma for Ritz camera, correct? I also have a question about the Phoenix line of lenses, they look similar to Tamron, would that be a correct assumption?

I have always associated Quantaray with Sigma. Uncertain about the rest.

I remember the Ritz Camera adverts for Quantaray in Modern Photography and Popular Photography. I used to have Sigma 24mm and a Quantaray 24mm which were identical apart from the names on them.

I have a Sigma 24mm marked Quantaray too.

I'm nearly positive I read that Sigma was the company making the Quantaray glass for Ritz Cameras. I seem to remember reading an article years ago on the subject but I just wasn't 100% sure. I would like to know about the Phoenix glass, it does resemble Tamron AF glass, but I could be wrong.

I bought a new Ritzcam 28 - 85 zoom to use on my Canon A1 many years ago when in N.Y. And there was only Ritzcam as the mame on it. It was a dreadful thing as well.

I'm pretty sure that at least some Phoenix lenses were made by Cosina. We've had 28-80mm and 28-210mm AF zooms in the past that looked exactly the same.
