Just needs a good cleaning and it should be good to go.
Anyone have experience with these lenses.
Paid 50€ for it. I hope I made a good deal. _________________ Asahi Pentax: 35/3.5-50/1.4-55/1.8-135/3.5-200/4

Very good deal!
However, if you use it as a wide lens on a medium format camera it should be very useful, but less so on a FF or APS-C DSLR or mirror-less (it was not designed to be a short tele lens).
You can use it, with an adapter, as a tilt-shift lens on FF or APS-C, too.
But, if not used on a Medium Format camera I'll better sell it, after cleaning, for a good price. ...Of course, after posting a test page here |

Hi,
Since I have this lens now and I have some other medium format cameras I am leaning towards keeping the lens and buying a matching camera for it. Any suggestions? This will only fit the Hasselblad medium format cameras or is there also a way to interchange the lenses by means of adapters? _________________ Asahi Pentax: 35/3.5-50/1.4-55/1.8-135/3.5-200/4

I'm not sure a Kiev 88CM has exactly the same mount.
So, I would go for an Hasselblad 500, 500C or 500CM body.
Maybe you could post a picture of the back of the lens so that we see the mount.
There are adapters to mount this Distagon on Nikon, Pentax or Canon SLR/DSLRs, and Leica R. _________________ Olivier - Moderator

Of course the Hassy cameras are the first choice. If your lens has a leaf shutter then it is for the Hasselblad V, without a leaf shutter it could be a Hasselblad F lens (I can't see the shutter speeds ring on your lens in the posted photos). Take care, different mounts!
I have used Hassy lenses on my (now sold) Pentax 645N camera with very good results. There are are adapters for Hassy lenses to many mounts, medium format and FF. The Russian Kiev 88 medium format (6X6) cameras have a similar mount (but not identical - a modification may be necessary). I recall I've seen adapters for Pentacon 6 cameras, too. But my personal experience with Pentacon 6 cameras (I've owned one many years ago) was not very good.
I'll recomand a Pentax 645 camera with adapter for the Hassy lens - it is cheap now (on the SH market), not much bigger than a profesional FF SLR, handles just like a FF SLR and has all the electronics a FF SLR of the same era has. It's quite reliable and rezistent, too. Latter on, if you want to use your Pentax 645 lenses (or the adapted ones, like this Distagon) with a DSLR or mirror-less camera there are adapters for almost any mount. Unless you prefer the square format I'd go with Pentax 645, for the light weight and the SLR-like maneuverability.
But, of course, that's a personal opinion... |

Hi Dan.
I wondered about the Bronicas. Are there adapters for them too ? _________________ Olivier - Moderator

Cheers Olivier.
I've never seen adapters for Bronica. For the bigger Bronicas an adapter is not likely as their flange distance is longer than the Hassy one but for the 645 Bronicas it's possible (however, I have never seen one). |

I don't have any Bronica cameras but I have collected some of the Bronica Zenzanon-PE series of lenses because they are stunningly good, the 3.5/100 and 4.5/200 get quite a bit of use on my Sony a850. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

All my attempts to utilize classic (leaf shutter) Hasselblad lenses on FF Canons has been quite a disappointment. Dancing with aperture, closing and opening it for action back and forward is a pain in the neck. The result was not better, than with Rolley SL35 CZ lenses, which are simple to use and excellent. |
