So the moon came in for a close up.
I enjoyed those photos. Very good.
Difficult to believe it has been almost 44 years since any man walked upon that surface! |

I am curious about what lens a "Tokina Vivitar 8/800mm" is. I'm assuming that it's probably a Vivitar lens made by Tokina (is it?), but is it a mirror lens or not, is it an old preset lens, or...? Just curious...
I will say that the lens did a pretty good job for resolution -- just a bit of blue-green (cyan?) fringing on the moon's perimeter. Thanks for sharing.

Those are good. I just picked up a Tokina RMC 500 f8 reflex lens in minolta mount. Quick dirty test in low light showed sharpness pretty good. Contrast not good but it is very dark and overcast here now and I know mirror lenses are not good in low light conditions. Anybody know this lens? Not much out there in internet land on it. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |

These are quite nice shots for a 1200mm equivalent setup. Is this the giant two-piece Panzerfaust? If it is, I am surprised you got such nice shots with it. Using this lens is a giant pain in the wazoo. It has the tiniest of tripod foots and dances all over the place. Nice job! _________________

exactly. Vivitar branded (37 serial). I didn't put any teleconverter to gain as much light as possible due shaky tripod. I assume if lens would be on stable ground there is even some space for improvement. _________________ ---------------------------------
